St John’s Ashfield engaged Open Box Technology (OBT) to supply an AV system for their new Ministry Centre hall. The brief required that minimal equipment intrude on the space as hall will be used in a variety of ways and needs to be flexible. The system also needed to be very easy to use and quick to set up.
OBT installed a QSC Q-Sys DSP system controlled by an iPad to look after the audio requirements. This makes using one of the wireless microphones, playing background music or plugging in a lectern microphone is as simple as plug and play. More complex requirements are able to be dealt with using the four AV wallplates and audio patchbay solution.
The video system includes two mobile 55” TV screens. These can be used as stand-alone units, with local HDMI and Apple TV inputs. They can also be used together to extend the system onto multiple screens using an HDMI video matrix and cat5 extenders. This provides a simple, highly flexible, system.
St John’s meet at 8am, 10am and 6pm every Sunday. If you join them, expect a warm welcome and a service centred on Jesus
